Why Run?

Thinking about running for the PASS Board but still not sure about it? Well, who better to ask than former and current Directors themselves!

This is what the Board thinks about the Board...

Jeremiah Peschka: The Board of Directors and You: “The PASS Board of Directors is the cheapest and most entertaining MBA program I have found. Nowhere else will you find the opportunity to manage a 7-figure budget while dining on bacon.”

Douglas McDowell: "PASS can only succeed if our veteran community and business leaders serve as directors. For the organization that we are all so passionate about, it is the highest honor to be considered and contribute as a Board member, and a unique role that offers opportunity to provide unrivaled value and impact."

Rick Heiges: “I have had the satisfaction of seeing the organization change and grow as it continues to do today. That takes a lot of work, but the results and relationships that are built along the way make it worthwhile. The common goal among the directors is to make it easier for our community to share, grow, and learn.”

Andy Warren: “Ask not what PASS can do for you, ask what you can do for PASS.”

Joe Webb: Top 5 Reasons to Run for the PASS Board of Directors: “Being a good or even great technologist requires a certain set of skills. But being a visionary, a leader, a manager, requires a very different set of skills. As a member of the board, you’ll get to stretch yourself and grow in ways that will make you a more well-rounded professional…”

Wayne Snyder: “If you have a passion for the SQL Server community, the wisdom of the ancients, people skills, and a wish to drive your personal experience to new levels, then consider joining the Board of Directors for PASS. You will have the honor and privilege of leading the best community-driven SQL Server organization in the world. You will be able to work closely with other Board members, the Headquarters team, and hundreds of volunteers who make our great organization work. This will not be easiest thing you will ever do, but it can be one of the most rewarding. Join us - make a difference!"

BEWARE IMPOSTER SQLPASSPR TWITTER ACCOUNT

Just a quick note to watch out for an imposter Twitter account purporting to represent PASS HQ PR. Today, the account began posting inflamatory messages under the guise of PASS. We want to assure the community that this account is in no way related to PASS or any of its representatives and does not speak for the organization. The only account that speaks for PASS is @sqlpass.

We have posted messages to this effect on Twitter to our loyal followers. Thanks to Andy Leonard and others who brought this to our attention and who are spreading the word  to unfollow the account and to not retweet any of its messages. We are working with Twitter to report the account as an imposter and have it removed.
